Camper Bios - 2014

Soylent QueenPlaya Name – I respond to Soylent Queen and/or Sugar Bitch and/or Lisa: take your pick!

Been to Burning Man before? I lost my virginity in 2013, but honestly, I don't think I was ever a virgin. I was born to pick MOOP up off the Playa.

Camped with PolyParadise before? Yes indeedy, I had a dandy time in 2013 and am looking forward to an ever-more incredulously ludicrously adjective-packed time in 2014.

Volunteer on the Playa? I helped to put Poly Paradise together in 2013 under Scotto's benevolent dictatorship, then I volunteered with Human Carcass Wash throughout the week. I believe that Touch, who runs the HCW and informs its gentle, holy, body-affirming, respectful approach to the perfection that is every human body, is a bodhisattva. The hours I spent in the HCW were all holy hours.

Volunteering in 2014: I and my Generalissimo, ToMmY, (without whom I do not believe I ever would have gone to Burning Man, so praises and kisses be upon his soul) are offering BRC Citizens diabetic-friendly, body-sanctifying services.

Namely, we're launching Sugar Bitch: a small camp within Poly Paradise Village that will be offering vinegar foot baths for the poor, cracked feet of Burners (in conjunction with the HCW); temporary tattoos with our sugar skull (sugar kills!) camp logo that we would be happy to apply to all comers; and the high holy strawberry-cream communion altar, where we shall dispense low-carb snackery upon the tongues of all who kneel before the low-carb altar. Or just stop by to talk to us about how to cook and eat the low-carb way, or to shake your booty, since Sugar Bitches are dance- and exercise-happy! Check your handy events listing for times & dates.

Who is Soylent Queen / Sugar Bitch / Lisa / Whatshername: I'm a writer, an organic gardener, a Type 1 diabetic for well nigh unto 49 years now (one more year and I get a gold medal for still being alive. Really!), a Bostonian, a dancer, and a mediocre hula hooper. At the age of 52, I am finally learning to swim. Take that both literally and metaphorically, if you like. I look forward to meeting you!
